Unanswered: DB2 ETL Automation standard practices

    Hello,

I have created a database and some SQL ETL scripts.

I now need to automate the ETL scripts nightly. I can either use batch files or I also have access to RAD. I was looking at DB2 Task Scheduler . This scheduler requires inputting a user id and password within the SQL file. I am not allowed to do this as it is not encrypted.

What do people use in production enviroments to make a solid ETL automation tool ?

Pure for scheduling i would go for db2 ATS. You'll observe a bit of a learning curve and your workload must be executed as stored-procedures. On the other hand you'll get a cluster-aware schedular for free (i.e. no extra charge).

Somewhere between " too small" and " too large" lies the size that is just right.
