I am new to db2, i got to store the user modification done via application java on to an audit table.

To achive the above said, i am thinking of creating an audit table with columns say auditid, type(if insert, update or delete), field_name, old_value, new_value, date_of_modification(systemdate) and user_name

I thought of doing this with triggers, but it seems to affect the performance of my db, because the table on which i want to add my trigger is enormous.

I wanted to use ddl script, but have no idea how to achive it, i looked into lot of info abt ddl, it seems very vague for me.

Has anyone implemented via ddl script, if so can u post some references with examples.
