Dear Experts, Here is my situation.I have got a table that contains a CLOB column. This column stores some XML data. My requirement is to change the CLOB data type to BLOB. I am thinking of the following steps:
1. Drop CLOB column.
2. Alter table to define a BLOB column
3. Load the data table.
This table is used by both online & batch. Is there any specific instructions to be followed to perform above activities? please let me know your feedback...
The db2 version is 10..and running on z/os..

as the level/platform is not indicated, have a look at infocenter for this version and
check admin_move_table that will allow an online move/change
what is the reason for clob/blob convertion as xml is characters and xml datatype is alaso available

Good DBAs are not formed in a week or a month. They are created little by little, day by day. Protracted and patient effort is needed to develop good DBAs.
