Unanswered: load database between different versions of Sybase

    Hello!

Can I load several dumpfiles with "load database ... from .... stripe on ... " from a Sybase 10 to a Sybase 15?

Source database: ASE version: SQL Server/10.0.2.7/P/Sun_svr4/OS 5.2/EBF
    Destination database: Adaptive Server Enterprise/15.7/EBF 21339 SMP SP101 /P/X64/Windows Server/ase15

When I'm running the load database command I get the following error:

LOAD DATABASE across platform is not supported for this database dump version of ASE. Upgrade version of this dump is 0.

    Can somebody help me?

    Thank you!

    Kind regards

dump files sybase 10 into sybase 15.7

    Hello,

Is it possible to load several dumpfiles, taken from sybase version 10, into a sybase database version 15.7?

    Source database: SQL Server/10.0.2.7/P/Sun_svr4
Destination database: Adaptive Server Enterprise/15.7/EBF 21339 SMP SP101 /P/X64/Windows Server

I'm recieving the following error with the command load database...from...
LOAD DATABASE across platform is not supported for this database dump version of ASE. Upgrade version of this dump is 0.

Or is there another way to upgrade from sybase 10 to 15?

    Kind regards

You cannot go straight from 10 to 15. If I am not mistaken, you'll need to go from 10 on Sun. Then, you can use a remote dump from 12 on Sun to 15 on Windows.

As an alternative you can use DDLgen to extract objects and use bcp to extract data, and enter it in your new 15 server.
I'm not crazy, I'm an aeroplane!
