Red face Unanswered: How to link fields from one form to another

    Hey guys
I actually joined cause am new at Brilliant Database
I have a question you may find silly
I made a form that can calculate the cost and has other fields such as price and quantity (these fields are entered manually) I also have a button that says issue invoice. When I press this button it takes me to another form( I was able to do that) but what I want to know is how can I make the price cost and quantity appear on this form directly according to the company name ( this field is also present in the first form ) and it should be present in the second
    HELP PLZ h

    Hello.

When you press the button, have it populate two variables with the Price and Quantity. Then add your line of code that brings you to your new form and then populate the form fields with the contents of the two variables.

can you be more specific please?
in the first form I have list of company names I can choose one
then I fill the fields and after that the cost is calculate
when this is done I press the "issue invoice" button
this button takes me to another form which has
    COMPANY NAME
    COST
    QUANTITY
the cost and quantity should be according to the company name since each company has different cost and quantity

    Hi Tima123456
Just wondering what is the purpose of the "new" form. If for printing, you would normally use a report. You can filter out other fields with the visibility rules if needed or switch to another sheet (with selected fields only). There is likely more then one way to achive what you need - including Tubbritt's suggestion.
I would always suggest making a sample of your application and post it here with text box's explaining what is needed on each form.
    Regards
    David

    Hi Tima.
Can you post your database on the forums so someone can take a look at it and advise you best?

    Regards

    Hi again.
From the screen shots, it appears you have what is a fairly standard, customer-invoice/order-item type system. If this is the case you normally set up 3 (or more ) forms and relate these together. Data should only added or edited in its appropriate form to avoid errors. Displaying data is more flexiable sometimes being "creative" to achieve some practical result with the limitations of the program.
A bbd file would likely make this clearer.

    David
