Unanswered: PostgreSql connection to using public Ip

    Hi,

I have installed Enterprise database on server machine with localhost as host.

For same machine we got public IP from internet which is configured on router.

Actually I want to access database using this public Ip.

    So, is it possible?

See the manual for the relevant configuration setting:

    http://www.postgresql.org/docs/curre...STEN-ADDRESSES
I will not read nor answer questions where the SQL code is messy and not formatted properly using [code] tags: http://www.dbforums.com/misc.php?do=bbcode#code

    Thanks shammat for ur reply

I have tried that configuration , but it's not working.

Actually on same machine we have public IP Address which is configured on router.

When any request come from another machine to this IP, than this request redirect to local server machine IP.

Actually I want to access database using this router configured public IP.

    So, is it possible?

What is an "ur" reply? I don't know that word, sorry.

"Not working" is not an acceptable error description.

That sounds more like a network problem with the router configuration, not a Postgres problem. Postgres will listen on the IP address configured in postgresql.conf

You also need to take pg_hba.conf into account to enable clients to "come through".

Did you do that? For details please see the manual:

Assuming that all what shammat said is done you will also need to make a "virtual server" or port forwarding on router.

    Regards,

I think that's what OP meant with
When any request come from another machine to this IP, than this request redirect to local server machine IP.
