Unanswered: how does postgres handle invalid pgpass entries?
What happens if we write the invalid entries to the pgpass file ?
correct format is hostnameort:database:usernameassword which is a 5-tuple entry.
what if we give less/more number of fields to the pgpass file.?
what if we give wrong information to the pgpass entry ?
Does it just ignore the entry and prompt user to enter password manually ? or does it fail to connect to DB and stop there itself ?
