    Unhappy Unanswered: Problem Drop Index

    Hi guys!,

    I have a problem with db2, i need drop index implicity because the manager database created an index and i cannot drop explicity (DROP INDEX name-index).

    I read this article: IBM DB2 9.5 Information Center for Linux, UNIX, and Windows but not working for me.

    The index call SQL140110084234790 (generated by system).

    I try:

    error message: SQL0204N "SQL140110084234790" is an undefined name. SQLSTATE=42704

    - DROP INDEX SYSIBM.SQL140110084234790;
    SQL0669N A system required index can not be ruled out explicitly. SQLSTATE = 42917

    and similar statements but it did not work.

    Any idea?.

    Thank you very much!

    primary key - unique constraint ? always use explicit names for pk/ct
    pk : try alter table drop primary key
    always specify platform/level.. and details about created objects....

    Good DBAs are not formed in a week or a month. They are created little by little, day by day. Protracted and patient effort is needed to develop good DBAs.
