Unanswered: Help designing table with floating rates

    Hello,

I have a question of what would be the best way to design a table with dates and variable rates. I will use this Rate Table eventually for interest calculations. My challenge is that in a single day I have 5 types of rates with their corresponding rates. For example: Rate A = 0.15, Rate B = 0.20, Rate C = 0.25....

Currently, my Rate Table has these fields:
    Rate_ID - primary key
    Rate_Date
Rate_Type - look up from another table
    Rate

Is this the best way to set this table up? As you can see, dates will be repeated five times.

Any information or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

    Much thanks,

    Nick

I would have one record with the five rate types.
