    Unanswered: Stored Procedure in Java

With recent versions of PostgreSQL, it seems that stored procedures can be written in Java also. Is there any performance implication of writing stored procedures in Java. Is the feature support equivalent to that of PL/SQL.

If by recent, you mean for the last 10 years or so (Since pg version 8.0,) then yes, you can write postgresql functions in Java. Javascript is more recent; it's been available since postgresql 8.4.

As for performance issues, every language has it's strong points, and not-so-strong points. Depending upon what you are trying to do, 'your mileage may differ.'

Here's a decent discussion that you may want to look at: Choosing the Right Database Procedural Language
