Unanswered: Calculate time in days between 2 dates for each row, then use data in a second report

I have a table in access with rows of help desk incidents

Each incident has a create date, closed date, affected user, building, closed-by-person, etc.

The goal is to be able to run these couple reports against this data:

    1- be able to specify a time period, say a week, a month (i.e. a range )
2- within this date range, to show the number of incidents closed on the first day (opened and closed on same day), with 2nd day, 3rd day, 5th day, 10th day, or closed after more than 10 days.

Add a column to the data sheet on the right next to each row showing how long it took in days between incident creation and closing.

both ideas above are related that's why I'm asking about both here.

Do you think it's best to add the calculation column on the right first , the using the results from here (this is flat and static data now) to use in the main report, the first one, to make it easier to create the first report?

    Thank you

Search in Access help for the DateAdd() and DateDiff() functions. They are usable in a query.
    Have a nice day!
