    Unanswered: Why SNP is not working in 2010 Access?

    Hi,

    I dont understand why snapshot report is not being displayed in 2010 Acess.

    Previously my snapshot file was displaying thur this code 2003 Access but in 2010 Access, it produded 'Run-time error 438' Object doesn't support this property or method.

    and halt at below red color line.

    Public Function LoadSnapshotFile(snpCtl As Object, strFilePath As String) As Boolean
    Const conSnpFinishedDownload As Integer = 4
    With snpCtl

    .SnapshotPath = strFilePath

    Do While .ReadyState < conSnpFinishedDownload
    DoEvents
    Loop
    If .Error = 0 Then
    LoadSnapshotFile = True
    Exit Function
    Else
    MsgBox "Error loading snapshot file", _
    vbOKOnly, "Snapshot Error = " & .Error
    LoadSnapshotFile = False

    End If
    End With
    End Function
    There is another releated which is below :

    Sub LoadReport()
    If Dir(CurrentProject.Path & "\R_Stock" & ".snp") <> "" Then
    Kill CurrentProject.Path & "\R_Stock" & ".snp"
    DoEvents
    End If

    DoCmd.OutputTo acReport, "R_Stock", "(*.snp)", CurrentProject.Path & "\R_Stock.snp" & ".snp", False, ""
    DoEvents

    LoadSnapshotFile Me.ActSnapShot, CurrentProject.Path & "\R_Stock" & ".snp"

    End Sub

    I was calling my report thru below command.

    Call LoadReport

    And it was runing well. But not now due to the produced error. I tried to make it pdf extension of the report file. It is updating the file at the path (where I kept the report) but problem is not displaying after click event on the form. (for snp, snapshot viewer control were used on the form).

    Please help.

    Thanks in advance.

    snapshot is no longer supported form A 2010 on, instead use PDF or XPS
    Discontinued features and modified functionality in Access 2010 - Access - Office.com
    I'd rather be riding on the Tiger 800 or the Norton

    Thanks healdem for your as usual quick reply.

    But I changed the extension (in code) and converted snp report file into pdf format where in I kept the physical file. But still not displaying on my form. I believe it require to replace the snap shot viewer (Class snpvw.Snapshot Viewer Control.1) over the form. Then what I need place instead?

    Please advise so that created report will display.

    Thanks again.

    Hello Healdem,

    The report is being saved at the path with the information I need. I can print it going out of Access. But I need to display it on the form thru a command btn so that I can see the generated report on form self or in report without going out of access. Otherwize I will to display it independently in Access like other reports. Means there will be no particular viewer pasted on the form. Let me try out this.

    Thanks,
    With kind regards,
