    Unanswered: Sybase performance issue

    Hi all,

Unfortunately our DBA has gone on holiday, and I'm asked to have a look at some performance issues we have. I don't have much experience with database management, let alone Sybase

We're running Sybase 1502 on a Red Hat server with 70GB of memory. The end users are complaining that the queries they run sometimes take 3 seconds while the same query takes 3 minutes the next moment.

I'm trying to figure out what the problem is but don't really know where to look. As far as I know, there are no other processes running which could be using a lot of resources.

I attached the output of the sp_configure command.

    Hope someone can help.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Catarrunas,

Thanks for the reply. I checked the sysmon and cacheconfig and attached it as well. I had a look at it, but don't notice anything strange... Although I don't really know what to look for neither
