    Unanswered: db2 v10

    Hi,

    Does anybody suggest me which is the most stable version of db2 v10.*
    Am looking to install DB2 v10.* on linux. so can anyone suggest which would be the best version to rely on.

    Stability is a subjective term. All depends on how you use the tool and the competence of your shop in configuring it correctly for the intended usage at your site together with whatever ancilliary solutions with which it might integrate such as LDAP servers, backup tools , along with whatever applications use it and which levels and fixpack of db2 those applications are certified with...

    Don't get confused by the DB2 version numbering. DB2 for LUW 10.5 is _very_ different from DB2 for LUW 10.1; it's a new version, not just another minor release.

    DB2 10.1 FP3 is probably the most stable version. Doesn't usually matter which operating system.

    IBM publishes a list of supported Linux distributions and levels that you should check for compatibility. What I meant was that, generally speaking, DB2 Linux has "about" same reliability as DB2 AIX or DB2 Windows if they are at the same release and fixpack level. They are always released at the same time.
