Unanswered: expdp taking long time to export a schema

    Hi,

Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production
    Linux v6

Oracle data pump export is taking around 8 hours to generate a dump file for 100GB data. Is there a way to improve the performance of the expdp please suggest....

    expdp abc/abc2014@orcl schemas=test directory=SCHEMADUMP FLASHBACK_SCN=944380635754 parallel=4 dumpfile=testexp%U.dmp logfile= testexp.log

yes, don't force all the data across the network as is done below
    >expdp abc/abc2014@orcl
expdp will likely complete in less time when dump file is written local to DB Server itself.

    Cool

FLASHBACK_SCN will also degrade significantly your datapump export.
If you are using this option to generate recoverable backups, datapump dump files are not considered backups.
Better perform rman backups which are faster and easier to recover from.
