    Unanswered: MYsql Data purging

Can anyone suggest what would be the best way to perge data in MYSQL.

Currently in our application we have about 25000 records inserted daily and the also the history data is required for analysis. Deleting old records is not an option.

I am pushing a month data into another table only for history purpose and deleting from the main table.

IS this the best approach or any other alternative method to perform this

Even though MySQL is owned by Oracle, MySQL uses a completely different database engine and server architecture than the traditional Oracle database.

I'm going to move this thread from the Oracle forum to the MySQL forum so that it gets more appropriate answers.

In theory, theory and practice are identical. In practice, theory and practice are unrelated.
