    And I get an error when executing the following block. Please be nice. :P
    This is my first pl sql block.

    Code:

    create or replace procedure del (train_no numeric(10))

    is

    Begin

    Delete from train where train_no=del.train_no;
    End;
    and it shows the following error

    LINE/COL ERROR
    -------- -----------------------------------------------------------------
    1/32 PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol "(" when expecting one of the
    following:

    do as below
    Code:
    CREATE OR replace PROCEDURE Del (train_no NUMBER)
    IS
    BEGIN
        DELETE FROM train
        WHERE  train_no = Del.train_no;
    END;
    You can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think.
    The average person thinks he's above average!
    For most folks, they don't know, what they don't know.

    The "size" of the parameter/argument is determined by the calling procedure & not specified in the called procedure.
