• Developer II performs medium complexity (i.eapplication modules) analysis, design, development and unit testing of software applications from user requirements and design documents. The candidate also resolves defects encountered during various testing cycles


• 5+ years of progressive experience developing applications with Java and J2EE technologies (EJB, JMS, JSP, JDBC)
• 5+ Experience with Oracle SQL, PL/SQL
• 5+ Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• 5+ Experience with test driven development and automated unit testing using JUnit
• 3+ Experience in developing applications on WebLogic and JBoss application server

• Involves application development, prototyping, modeling and high level technical consulting.
• Perform "what-if" analysis to simulate network stress test and survivability.

Basic Requirements:

Position Overview
The developer is expected to do the following tasks

• Analyze the requirements
• Develop and document design
• Develop new code/modification existing application code
• Develop application shell scripts, sqls, build and deployment scripts
• Identify environment requirements to meet project development and testing needs
• Manage code version control
• Coordinate the deployment with deployer on controlled environment and testing activities with testers.
• Collaborate with the Infrastructure Support, Unix System Administrators and Database Administrators

Java Developer - Herndon VA

• Develop, modify, or update applications used by business units or infrastructure units.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts in those units to determine unit needs and business processes that are automated by the application.
• Participate in most or all of the steps in the software development life cycle to create and modify the software.

Key Job Functions

• Develop, modify or update applications written in Java, Oracle Stored Procedures, Perl/Shell scripts with Weblogic server.
• Collaborate with managers or practitioners in the business unit to determine systems requirements and functionalities needed in new or revised application.
• Develop detailed specifications of application and document in a form that it can be used for coding application.
• Perform or review coding done to render specifications into application functionalities, screens, or outputs.
• Develop test plan and/or test application in development status or debug application in production mode.
• Document or review documentation of steps in specification development, coding, testing and user acceptance for future reference and for internal control purposes.

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required.
