Unanswered: Folder Positioning and Time Required to Run Scripting

Does the position of the folders have ANY effect on running a project? Specifically, I am curious about the time aspect. For example, will having sub-folders, as in the second screenshot versus the first screenshot, have any impact on the time required to pull information from the folders? Assume that all other areas are identical (i.e., scripting is exactly the same).

as far as i know there is no difference...

what really makes a difference is the way you plan your scripts...

for example... a common newvie error is:

    - When scripting, when you have to take information from a record in a folder,
the "natural" way of doing this would be:
    a) script to go to the folder
    b) script to look for the record
    c) take the info you need to a var.

the fast, and not natural way (the correct one):
    a) create a recordset variable of all the information of the folder
    b) filter your recordset variable to get the record you need
    c) take the info you need from the recordset to a var.

i wonder if i made clear this explanation.

    if not let me know

    best regards from mexico

    fer,
Thanks for your reply. Your explanation was very succinct and understood! Luckily, through the guidance of this board, I was able to overcome some of the newbie errors... well, in time, I did. Although this did not come easily because Brilliant Database works in a much different fashion than of what I am used to. Brilliant Database can be INCREDIBLY efficient to those that have mastered it - I am but a mere apprentice!
