Selected individual will serve as a Web Application Developer (Software Engineer) and will design, code, test, implement, and maintain database driven application code for the NIH Intramural Database (NIDB).
Work with the Project Manager to gain an understanding of the business and system requirements to determine optimal application program design.
Interact with application development team members to design, code, test, implement, and maintain web-based applications using software development best practices.
Write system design and application code documentation.
Provide support to users for the NIDB application
Minimum of 3 years practical (hands-on) experience in the development of database driven web applications (preferably Oracle)
Ability to learn Terascribe scripting language
Experience in various operating systems and technologies such as OS X, Windows, Unix, Linux, OSX, etc.
Ability to resolve cross browser/platform compatibility issues
Experience with good security practices in application development
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Demonstrated ability to build partnerships with various teams
Ability to communicate well and work in a collaborative team environment
