Unanswered: Field as "open custom web page" cache issues

    Hi,

I am experimenting with a new application, and as part of that I want to display a web page being served by a web server running on my PC, so using the address:

    http://127.0.0.1

I have noticed that after the web page is retrieved for the first time, if the content changes I am unable to get that to show. If I right click on the field within BD and choose "Refresh", it doesn't reload the page. I am assuming this is to do with it using the IE engine cached content, but there seems no way to configure the field to reload content each time.

Has anyone else come across this. Any solutions? I have tried some tricks like having a button and using a script to clear the field and re-populate it, but that doesn't work either. Even closing BD and re-opening doesn't force it to retrieve the site content afresh.

    Cheers

Can't seem to replicate that problem here. Everything seems to work fine for me.
I just created a html field that links to a local html page. When I change the content of the html page, I'm able to refresh it from within brilliant database with no problems.

    Hi,

OK, so it seems that right clicking on the web page in the field and selecting "refresh" works. But how can I do that programmatically, e.g. with a "refresh" button. The normal field refresh doesn't work.

    Cheers

have you tried using an iframe tag?

i am not savy regarding http but you can easely find an iframe example on internet, try to show your web page inside an iframe that should work

    best regards
