    Unanswered: BLOB space usage

    Hi all,

    DB2 10.1 LUW on RHEL6.

I have created a table with 1 field BLOB (5M).

Is it true to say that with every row inserted Table size will grow by 5 M due to BLOB insertion or allocation will be 5 MB but usage will be only equal to actual length of the BLOB file uploaded in the field.

I am not able to make a difference between allocation and usage of BLOB storage.

please clear this to me .

    according the doc
    BLOB or BINARY LARGE OBJECT(integer [K | M | G])
For a binary large object string of the specified maximum length in bytes.
the infocenter is something that keeps all information about db2 and avoids many questions (if being used) .....
