Unanswered: When taking Cold backup weekly, Archive logs required or not

    Hello Experts

We are having Oracle 10g version running under Windows environment with 180+ GB database size and the database running in Archive Log mode.

In our production environment, we are taking weekly cold backup of our database. Now my question is, How many days/months archive logs are to be maintained.

Please let me know this as I am new in the administration field.

You can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think.
The average person thinks he's above average!
For most folks, they don't know, what they don't know.

Why are you doing cold backups? If you have archiving on you never have to shut down the database. just do hot backups
You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.
