Unanswered: obfuscation of db2 stored procedure in Java

    Hi,

I have written a db2 procedure using Java. A normal db2 stored procedure written in sql can be easily encrypted. Can any one kindly let me know how to encrypt a db2 java stored procedure.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

Text of the external routines is not stored in the DB2 system catalog.
    So, nothing to encrypt...

You don't store the source code of your external routine on the DB2 server.
You store your *.class files (optionally in *.jar file) for JAVA or shared objects for C/C++ on the DB2 server only.
These files don't contain your source code.
If you are afraid that somebody can take you *.class files from the DB2 server and decompile it to steal your priceless IP, then you can try to use some java obfuscator, for example.
    Regards,
    Mark.
