    Unanswered: backup postgres db

All Instances of postgresql hava a postgres database, it contains the catalog and user logins and permissions?.
Should this database be backed up together with the other databases?

Which is the risk of not backup this database? will be just creating roles and permissions, or it contains more info about the other databases?

In my opinion, a DBA really needs to understand their restore strategy, and making backups are a very early step in the restore strategy. This is something that you need to spend an hour with the documentation for Backup and Restore instead of asking questions... You need to firmly understand your restore strategy and the backups that you've scheduled, so asking anyone else to plan this is a recipe for catastrophe.

In theory, theory and practice are identical. In practice, theory and practice are unrelated.
