    Unanswered: combo box complicated

    Hi

Is it possible to do something like this ??

i have 2 combo boxes with similar value

    combo box1 .. value is 1 2 3 4
    combo box2 .. value is 1 2 3 4

    what i need is...
    if i select 1 from combo box1 then combo box2 value should be 2 3 4
    if i select 2 from combo box1 then combo box2 value should be 1 3 4
the same applies for all the other values
    can this be done
    thanks in advance

    Yes.

You can create an AfterUpdate event in the first combo box to change the RowSource in the second combo box based on its current value.

    1. Are these values coming from a Table/Query or from a Value List?
    2. Are the Values actually 1 2 3 4 or is this merely an exemplar?
    3. Are the Datatypes of these Fields defined as a Number or as Text?

This is a variation of the concept known as Cascading Comboboxes. Exactly how you do this, using the AfterUpdate event of Combobox1, as Brian suggested, depends on the answers.

    Hope this helps!

    hi Missinglinq

    1) Yes, the values are coming from a table/query
    2) the values are examples only.
    3) datatypes are defined as Text
have to do this using the AfterUpdate event of combobox1

    thanks
