Hello All! This is my first post anywhere. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I am creating a report solution for an end user, who gets time clock information sent from payroll as text files. He wants the data stored in Access and pulled into Excel Pivot Tables via external data source. Long story short, the time fields do, unfortunately, allow blank values because people sometimes do not punch in and out. Even though I am formatting the columns as "long time" when importing the text files, it is converting the fields to text. I created a query to put a time into the fields if they are blank and then format them as time. However, these calculated fields still come through as text in the Excel Pivot Tables, so I cannot put them in the values section and have them show properly. This is the last leg of this project, so I am going crazy.
