Unanswered: Thoughts on using a subquery to add additional conditions in your where statement?

    For instance

I have a situation where I need several where / and along with a is not null and not in. Both the is not null and not in are part of an or. Instead of getting weird results I was thinking about keeping it all together except dropping a subquery around the results and placing my not in outside the sub query in the outer query. Would that be bad practice?

I'm insane please ignore lol. I just did all and, it worked fine. Moving between project management and data is frying my brain.
