    Question Unanswered: Generic dynamic trigger for update

    Hi,

    Can anyone let me know the best efficient steps ( only clues for each step ) for creating a dynamic update trigger?

    The requirement is creating a trigger which would insert the updated col, table name, user name, timestamp into the audit table if whatever column in the available tables got updated.

    Thanks

    EndUser<=>browser<=>WebServer<=>ApplicationServer< =>DatabaseServer
    You can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think.
    The average person thinks he's above average!
    For most folks, they don't know, what they don't know.

    so only application code can provide end user username, since same generic schema connects from application server to DB Server
