    Unanswered: SQl Server date forward on instance

    Hi, I have the need to set the date in the future, for testing purposes on an instance of SQL Server 2012. I cannot do this on the server, as we have more than one instance running. Is it possible to set one instance's date 8 months in the future?

    Thanks for any advice

    Without using Virtualization, I don't know of any way to advance the clock of one SQL Server instance on a given Windows machine.

    In theory, theory and practice are identical. In practice, theory and practice are unrelated.

    GetDate() - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms188383.aspx
    Returns the current database system timestamp as a datetime value without the database time zone offset. This value is derived from the operating system of the computer on which the instance of SQL Server is running.
