Unanswered: Instance shutting down automatically after the start

    Hi,

We are using db2 v9.5 fp 10 with HADR & TSA setup on AIX. However we are not able to bring up the instance since the last OS patch upgrade. Please help.
Im attaching diaglog with diag level 4.

Need the *earlier* entries in db2diag.log (from the point of db2start).
The log you attached begins at the db2stop (i.e. that is too late to know what caused the db2stop).
Also state the AIX details, in particular the tech level and exactly what os patch was applied recently.

    log.txt

I have copied the new log from the point of start to stop.
    AIX patch version is 6100-09-03-1415

Looks like db2 is being stopped by some process (check TSA).
    Don't know your TSA configuration.

    Are all file-systems fully available?

See SQL0905A (resource limit exceeded) , check any limits of AIX wlm or ulimits changes
    ECF_FILE_PATH_DOESNT_EXIST /TDS/db2admin/sqllib/cfg/indicators.xml - check reason for this

    Hi,
    Code:
    2014-12-08-14.37.06.746975+330 I145883A376 LEVEL: Info
    PID : 8716484 TID : 1 PROC : db2gcf
    INSTANCE: db2admin NODE : 000
    EDUID : 1
FUNCTION: DB2 Common, SQLHA APIs for DB2 HA Infrastructure, sqlhaDoesRGExist, probe:80
    RETCODE : ECF=0x90000552=-1879046830=ECF_SQLHA_OBJECT_DOES_NOT_EXIST
              Cluster object does not exist
DB2 deems that something wrong with the TSA resources.
What is the output of the following command?
    # lssam
    Regards,
    Mark.

    many things wrong..
try to restart tsa properly - because if the node was stopped with stoprpnode or other - tsa will shut down db2

TSA can't bring instances online. It thinks so at least.

I would suggest you to move TSA to the manual mode first to disable the start/stop commands first of all using:
    # samctrl -M T
    Then:
    - try to manually start both instances using db2start
    - try to activate both databases using 'activate database' command on both hosts
If you are not able to do this - the problem is not with TSA probably.
If you are able to do above things:
    - clear the 'Failed offline' state of the 'db2_db2admin_db2admin_ITIMDB-rs' resource:
    # resetrsrc -s 'Name="db2_db2admin_db2admin_ITIMDB-rs" & NodeNameList={"HOST1", "HOST2"}' IBM.Application
    - move TSA out of the manual mode using:
    # samctl -M F
    Regards,
    Mark.
