Unanswered: Problem in updating SQL backend via Excel VBA

    Dear all,
I have create an Excel application which connects to an SQL Server backend.
I have written an Excel vba procedure to update a table via ADO.
But it couldn't---the error message says the provider (sqloledb) does not support updating database.

Does anybody know how can I fix this ?
Thank you very much in advance.

Colud be a coding error when you connect/open database and/or Recordset.
Show the complete code you use to open ADODB.Connection and open the ADODB.Recordset.

    outside the rim
Another angle - you may want to consider doing the updates using sp's in sql instead of opening recordsets. It's very clean on both ends and far less prone to problems. let us know if you have questions or want details.
    have fun!

Sadly, there was no error number to look up ...
