    Unanswered: Remote Access to DB

I am on Oracle Database 11.0.4.2

I have created a user in Oracle with sysdba privileges.

I can access the database remotely using the SQL Developer tool just fine.
However, I cannot connect running Nessus and using the exact same credentials.

I know this is not a nessus forum. I am having a problem registering for the Tenable Discussion forums.

I am seeing the ORA-01017 error from within Nessus. I am baffled as to why I can use the same
credentials with SQL Developer and access the DB just fine, yet with another application, it does not work?

If you can think of anything from the database side that would prevent connection, I'd appreciate the help.

    Thanks,

    Ray

You can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think.

Well.....you are correct. Initially I had the nessus credentials as: ScanmeScanme12!@
Apparently nessus did not like the trailing !@ characters?

I changed the PW to asdfgh123asdfgh and now I can connect.

    WooHoo!!!
