    Question Unanswered: How to get the entire data back from corrupted .dbf file?

    One of my .dbf files consists of more than 120 records. Time ago it get corruption. I found about 7 corrupted records in a memo field and then tried to transfer the data from the .dbf into an .xls file, but it not responding unfortunately. With a Hex editor the same situation. I don`t know how can I get the entire data?

    Unfortunately there are differing types of 'corruption' that can affect a DBF file.
    Some of them are relatively easy to fix and others are a bigger problem.

    After making a COPY of your original file (corrupted or not), you might first try some of the free 'fix' tools.
    Google for: fix dbf files free or fix dbf files or repair dbf files

    If that works, great.
    If not, then you might have to try something more drastic.

    This is a good time to remind yourself about the importance of a good Backup strategy that covers more than a single day's backups.
