Unanswered: Visualizing data-lineage -- donate SQL code

    Hello-

for the past 18 months we have been coding daily (yup, including weekends) to solve a problem we had as data-warehouse developers. We were annoyed by manually tracing data-lineage inside SQL queries. What used to take us 30 minutes to an hour, can now be done in milliseconds.

Now, we need your help. We are seeking SQL queries from 25 Business Intelligence teams. Your code base will help us finalize the service prior to releasing it to a broader audience.

For helping us, you will get unlimited access to our API. Please apply to our beta by submitting your code: http://sqldep.com/beta

What good is raw SQL without having the underlying table structures that it queries?
You can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think.
The average person thinks he's above average!
For most folks, they don't know, what they don't know.
Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement.

If you use fully qualified names we can reverse-engineer underlying table structure automatically. Or of course you can submit DDL query along with your insert/update/.. statements. We have demo of such visualization on the homepage.

Our tool is useful when you manipulate the data through several stage tables and you need to trace data-lineage. That is why we are seeking Business Intelligence teams. For example we are parsing ETL belonging to a large company and they run thousands of queries every day to populate their data-warehouse. We are just looking for more early adopters to get access to our API and fine tune the tool.
