    Unanswered: automating database start up

On AIX running DB2v10.1.04 ESE...We were using db2iauto to start multiple instances on the server but the instances failed to start due to conflicts with memory consumption. The mon_heap_sz is set to automatic and each instance is grabbing memory on start up. Is there a way to delay db2iauto allowing one instance to start before starting the subsequent instances or scripting to achieve this same process for when the server is restarted?

in that case it would be better to write your own startup script to do this and checking existence of db2sysc process....

Good DBAs are not formed in a week or a month. They are created little by little, day by day. Protracted and patient effort is needed to develop good DBAs.
