    Unanswered: GSE0308N The string, "+++++++++++", exceeds the limit of "8" bytes.

    using db2se import_shape command with 11 userid character i got the error in subject.
    someone can confirm it exists a 8 characters limitation for DB2 user?

    Hmm, that's in the manual. I'm sure you could have found it the same as I did
    •User IDs on Linux and UNIX operating systems can contain up to 8 characters.

    yes the base rule in unix : max 8 characters for username
    this can be longer if a setting exists
    but be careful as some features of db2 only relate to the base rule and do not want to violate other settings (eg same restriction with transparant ldap - userid is limited to 8chars)
