Unanswered: php and text file as a database

    Hi all,

I'm currently learning php etc. Ive a project in mind where students in a class can log in and select a multi choice/true or false type quiz based on what they are studying.

So obviously a simple registration system that when logged in gives them a quiz, also list of results from previous attempts etc

There are only 50 students in total and it doesnt necessarily have to be online. So maybe Wamp on each pc.

Can this all be achieved using text files as a database?

    Thanks

Yes. Use a combination of directory structure, file name, and file contents.
    For instance:
    Directory name = StudentIDs
Contains a directory for each student, the directory name being the student ID.
Inside each student directory are files such as: Name, Phone, and directories such as Math, English, History.
Inside each subject directory are file names question1 question2, containing the student's answers to the quiz questions. If the student has not answered the question, the file does not exist. The file can contain the date, time, and answer. Your choice of whether the file contains multiple lines so that each attempt is saved, or the file only contains the last answer.
