So im making a school proyect and im almost done, but after relooking at my database structure i noticed how little i can expand it.
Let me first explain the application: Its a curriculum managment for the school to store all student information when they graduate (what they studied where they went for there fct...) beside that the students can update their profile anytime they want, besides that the teacher/school also has a list of componies, this companies are where the student do their fct.
The problem is that i can make a relation between the compenies where the students did their fct (becouse i have them) but i cant make a good list of companies where the user works at or where they worked meaning its hard to index the search engine for those compenies (these are stored in a varchar cell in the user table).
compenies have many fct and fct can have many students
how i would do it
how the hold the DATA
hope this help
See clear as mud
the aim is store once, not store multiple times
Remember... Optimize 'til you die!
Progaming environment: Access based on my own environment: DAO3.6/A97/A2000/A2003/A2007/A2010 VB based on my own environment: vb6 sp5 ASP based on my own environment: 5.6 VB-NET based on my own environment started 2007 SQL-2005 based on my own environment started 2008 MYLE YOUR PASSWORD IS JUST LIKE YOUR TOOTHBRUSH DON'T SHARE IT.
The thing your missing is that the teachers need a individual list of companies which the students do their fct but this student may have worked at a other compenie or doing the fct in a company which the school doesnt have any info or need to store in de fct company list which means i have three tables and i just dont know how to make it work:
Edit:i think your idea is right i just missed a part of it, thanks for the help
