Question Unanswered: Rearranging Data in an MS Access 2007 table into a new column

    Hi,

I have Access tables with fields that have the following format:

    -----------------------------------------------
    |CONSIGNEE_NAMES| CONFIRMATION |CONSIGNOR_NAMES|
    -----------------------------------------------

I need field CONFIRMATION to pic any name from field CONSIGNEE_NAMES that matches the names in field CONSIGNOR_NAMES..
    Kindly help..

    ?
sorry I haven't got a clue on what you are trying to achieve.
are you talking about a search box n a form?
are you talking about some table design change

what you could do is have a query that identifies the same name in both columns.
    eg
    Code:
select F.CONSIGNEE_NAMES as consignee, T.CONSIGNOR_NAMES as CONSIGNOR
    from mytable as F
    join mytable as T on F.CONSIGNEE_NAMES = T.CONSIGNOR_NAMES
..or if you are trying to find rows where the consignee AND consignor are the same
    Code:
    select CONSIGNEE_NAMES, CONSIGNOR_NAMES from mytable
    where CONSIGNEE_NAMES = CONSIGNOR_NAMES
I'd rather be riding on the Tiger 800 or the Norton
