Unanswered: Experienced with MS SQL, newbie to Sybase
I'm a database developer with a ton of Microsoft SQL experience, and a tiny bit of Oracle experience. I recently started a new job where I was told I might need to work on a little Sybase stuff, but it would be mostly Microsoft. Now that I'm here, it's a lot more Sybase than I thought, so I'm looking to get up to speed.
Are there any good references for learning Sybase, especially for someone who already knows other versions of SQL? I'm somewhat "old school" in preferring books, but not huge technical tomes. If I want to look up syntax, I know where to find Sybooks Online. I'm looking for explanations. Any recommendations?
