Answered: DB2 Catalog Netezza Database with More than 8 Character Name

Trying to do a CURSOR load into my DB2 (10.1 LUW) from a Netezza database. Unfortunately, the admin for the Netezza database gave it a 20 character name. Thusly, when I attempt to CATALOG the Netezza database, DB2 spits back an "SQL0104N An unexpected token was found following "DATABASE". I also get this error if I attempt to CATALOG with the AS parameter and a 8 character alias.

CATALOG DATABASE NETEZZA_DB_NAME_HERE AT NODE NETZNODE

    and

CATALOG DATABASE NETEZZA_DB_NAME_HERE AS NETZAL AT NODE NETZNODE

I have no control over the naming or administration of the Netezza database.

    Any suggestions?

It took awhile to track down a version of Infosphere Federation Server to match our DB2 version, but we were able to do that and then able to create an ODBC wrapper, and then federate to the Netezza database.

    Thank you!
