Hi everyone. I'm new to both this forum and databases. I started working in a new position recently where I may need to create and maintain a database and a front end. I have some experience with programming and took a class on relational database so I have the basics, but nothing beyond.
Right now we're using google spreadsheets to perform inventory and ordering. I've written scripts to automate some tasks on it, but I'm certain there is a better solution.
Apologize for going straight in to ask questions in an introduction thread, but hopefully I can get some answers to guide me to the right direction.
What would be the ideal database solution for managing inventory that users can view, create, edit, and create orders with the data? I have no problem doing some light programming and learning to create a proper database.
Also would any one recommend book/videos on databases for a beginner?
