Answered: After fersh install ASE 16.0 on Windows 2012 R2, isql is not connecting to db

    Hi,

I'm new Db and sybase world. So please don't mind simple queries.

I did installed sybase (ASE 16 on Windows 2012 R2) while referring administrator's guide.

After the install the first thing to vierify is able to connect to service using isql command.

When ran isql command to connect, I'm getting the following error.

    C:\SAP\OCS-16_0\bin>.\isql -Usa -SASE1 -PHy8r1d@
    CT-LIBRARY error:
ct_connect(): directory service layer: internal directory control layer error: Requested server name not found.

    C:\SAP\OCS-16_0\bin>

I did verified the following services are running from services,
    SYSAM
SAP BCKServer_SYBASEW2K12_BS (My server host name is SybaseW2K12)
    SAP Control Center 3.3
    SAP SQL Server _ SYBASEW2K12

    Following service is not running
    SAP XPServer_SYABSEW2K12

    Any help is appreciated.
