Unanswered: Subforms are obscuring view of main form and each other

I'm trying to create a database view that includes the main form and two linked subforms.

I can see the main form.

However, as soon as I add the subforms, the following happens.

There's a massive gap between the main form and the subform, despite that when I look in design view they seem very close together.

Also, when I add the second subform, the main form disappears entirely, and I can only see the subforms. I don't understand what is happening, so if anyone could enlighten me, I'd be really grateful.

if hey are subforms AND the 'parnet' form shoudl be visible then consider using embedded forms, in say a tabbed vie, one sub form per tab
I'd rather be riding on the Tiger 800 or the Norton
