Unanswered: I get following error message while attempting to connect to a MS SQL Server:

A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the pre-login handshake. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 The specified network name is no longer available.) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 64)
    what causes the problem?

My first guess would be that you are running ASP.Net Cassini on the machine which is running Visual Studio. If so, stop all instances (there may be more than one) of Cassini and see if that fixes your problem.

In theory, theory and practice are identical. In practice, theory and practice are unrelated.
