    Unanswered: Cost of migrating from Mysql to Mongo DB

    Hi,

    Would like to know the cost of migrating Mysql DB (Size of around few gbs) to Mongo DB.

    Size is rarely a significant factor in the cost/effort to migrate from relational to "big data" storage. The complexity of the problem (the number of function points in the project) is usually the largest factor in the cost.

    Without pretty specific specifications and an understanding of your choices, I don't have any way to estimate a conversion cost.

    Why not? It's a tool with a very specific purpose. He listed zero requirements for his database so how could you even question the decision w/o asking logical variables.

    The cost is free to migrate anything to MongoDB. It just takes your time and hard work which in my book are priceless.
