    Answered: rollforward failed - SQL1265N

Something I get this error that solved by reruning the restore & rollforward. sometimes it requires a new backup.

    Code:
    db2 RESTORE DATABASE DB_D2 FROM /opt/db2/backup TAKEN AT 20151118004245 TO /opt/db2/data INTO DB_D2B LOGTARGET /opt/db2/archive/db2inst1/restore/20151118_111057 WITH 2 BUFFERS BUFFER 1024 PARALLELISM 1 WITHOUT PROMPTING
DB20000I The RESTORE DATABASE command completed successfully.

Rolling Forward Archives on DB_D2B ...

db2 "ROLLFORWARD db DB_D2B TO END OF LOGS AND COMPLETE OVERFLOW LOG PATH ('/opt/db2/archive/db2inst1/restore/20151118_111057')"
SQL1265N The archive log file "S0000825.LOG" is not associated with the
current log sequence for database "DB_D2B" on database partition "0" and log
    stream "0".

    the backup command:

    Code:
    db2 -v archive log for db $SRC_DB

db2 -v BACKUP DATABASE $SRC_DB ONLINE TO $BCK_DIR WITH 2 BUFFERS BUFFER 1024 PARALLELISM 1 COMPRESS WITHOUT PROMPTING

Since I restore the DB and the logs I dont expect the rollforward process to fail on missing files.

"You should delete all the files (if any) from OVERFLOW LOG PATH folder before restoring.

Also, I have a different approach:
    - I take the backup with INCLUDE LOGS
    - at restore, I use TO END OF BACKUP (instead of END OF LOGS)"

OVERFLOW LOG PATH is empty before.
INCLUDE LOGS is not necessary as it is the default behavior.
Changed to END OF BACKUP, it works.

I'll leave this thread as unanswered for few days just to make sure the solution doesn't cause new issues.

    thanks

try to specify REPLACE HISTORY FILE at end of restore command
maybe the existing db and history file has other info from another backup/restore
