Unanswered: SQL8002N : An Attempt to connect to a host failed due to a missing DB2 Connect produc

I have db2 workgroup server edition v9.5 , installed on AIX.

When i try to connect mf from db2 workgroup server edition version 9.5 ,i get this mess:
SQL8002N : An Attempt to connect to a host failed due to a missing DB2 Connect produc

Attached the error message and the license list

I'm not sure about the missing - license or the db2 edition :

If i have to install db2connect license - can i use a db2consv_ee.lic for v9.7 file (That allready exists in my customer) ot should i download a specific file for v9.5 ? and for workgroup edition ?

    Could you hadle pls ?

    Tks !!

You have to have a DB2 Connect license because IBM licenses connections from the distributed platforms (LUW) to DB2 on Z/OS or IBM i
    Something like this:

    Product name: "DB2 Connect Server"
    License type: "..."
    Expiry date: "Permanent"
    Product identifier: "db2consv"
    Version information: "9.5"
    Concurrent connect user policy: "Disabled"
    Enforcement policy: "Soft Stop"
    Regards,
    Mark.

    Hi Markm
    Thanks about the replay,
But still i don't understand something:
    I have another environment on AIX , with db2 luw v9.7 .
I can get a connection to Z/OS without needed to have a db2connect license .
    This is the details :

    root@db2tviot# su - db2inst2
    db2inst2@db2tviot$ db2licm -l
Product name: "DB2 Enterprise Server Edition"
    License type: "License not registered"
    Expiry date: "License not registered"
    Product identifier: "db2ese"
    Version information: "9.7"

    db2inst2@db2tviot$ db2level
DB21085I This instance or install (instance name, where applicable:
"db2inst2") uses "64" bits and DB2 code release "SQL0907A" with level
    identifier "080B0107".
Informational tokens are "DB2 v9.7.0.10", "s141015", "IP23650", and Fix Pack
    "10".
    Product is installed at "/opt/IBM/db2/V9.7".

So , What make the different between the two envitonments ?

    Hi,

You haven't applied a full license on your AIX with v9.7.
Please, read about DB2 license files.
Probably, it works in a trial mode.
May be a DB2 Connect Unlimited Edition for System z is installed on Z/OS side and your db2 luw 9.7 understands that.
    Regards,
    Mark.

    Hi,
DB2 ESE license does not contain the DB2 Connect license.
The last DB2 version where 5 DB2 Connect licenses were included with ESE license was version 8.
All newer versions don't contain the DB2 Connect licenses.
    Compare the following LAs:

    - Use of the DB2 Connect component is limited to five (5) registered users per server.
DB2 Universal Database Enterprise Server Edition Version 8.2

    - Nothing about DB2 Connect licenses
IBM DB2 Enterprise Server Edition Version 9.5
IBM DB2 Enterprise Server Edition Version 9.7
    Regards,
    Mark.
