    Unanswered: VBA Capture the URL of the active IE window

    Have seen so many snippets on this - none seem to really work (and I am pretty well versed with VBA)

    Anyone have a quick and dirty way to capture the address of the active tab of ie?

    Thank You

    if you launched IE as an object under Access control then you can pull it off the variable....

    Code:
    dim ie as object
    set ie = createobject("internetexplorer.application")
    ie.visible = true
    ie.navigate "www.google.com"

    I am not trying to navigate to any particular page - I am trying to pull the URL or address from the active tab if ie is open.

    Basically it is for data entry. if a user is entering data about a prospective client and want to capture that client's web site in a hyperlink field - I want the user to have the page active, return to the access application , click a btn and I will capture that address and save into the system. i just need to get that address from the active IE tab
